Let's See......

So there has been a lot going on in our life here lately......lets see.....School started up.....so that has been keeping all of us busy........definitely hard to get back in the swing of homework, spelling words and stuff. And it seems like Caitlyn (2nd Grade) has twice as much homework as Jevin (3rd Grade) - It's crazy! I feel bad for her sometimes! And Kirsten has really started talking non-stop - she is really starting to remind me of her sister! It cracks me up!! She acts so much like Caitlyn did when she was her age. And Kirsten is almost 3 years old....which made me think that when Scott & I started dating Caitlyn was 3 years old and Jevin 4 years old - man how time flys - because that just seems like yesterday! Well - Caitlyn has started taking Cheer/Tumble classes at Central AR Cheer and she absolutely loves them! :) And I am happy that she has something to do once a week that is fun for her to enjoy. Jevin has his sports that keep him busy....although we have learned this year how dangerous they can be too - during his summer baseball he broke one of his permanent teeth in half which caused an emergency dental visit on a Saturday evening....and while we hoped that would be all the injuries he would have from sports we should have known better.....he played flag football in August and well....low and behold....in the middle of one of his game a kid pulled him down and remember this is suppose to be flag football....and his coach brough him over to me and his finger was big time swollen.....so he got an ice pack and went back to the sidelines....we were thinking it was probably just jammed really bad....and then I turned around and he was back out there playing....nothing stops him....he has a love for sports! :) Well...I took him to the doc the next day and it wasnt just jammed, he had broken his finger! So we put a splint on it and went on....but now that it has been 7 weeks later....it still is swollen and is growing back not straight.....so took him back to doc and they now think he will need surgery to fix it....just our luck! But he is in the middle of fall baseball season right now so we have decided to wait till after the season which will be November to do surgery...they will go in and rebreak his finger and put some pins in it. So we have that to look forward to....I guess I just better get used to this with a child that is so athletic and wont let anything stop him! I love him being athletic but not the injuries!!!
But other than that....life is normal....staying busy with the wonderful kids!!! :)

Summer 2009

Well it's been a little bit since I have blogged.....so thought I would do an update! :) It has been a little crazy around our house this summer. Jevin played baseball this summer, which he completely enjoyed and loved! He completely amazed me this year....he played so awesome, I was a very proud mommy! Caitlyn decided she didnt want to play softball this summer, I was a little bummed about that....so we signed her up for gymnastics, she really enjoys that, she goes once a week to that! And well, little Kirsten, she is just herself, a 2 year old, she is such a joy to us though. She has been doing really well lately with her manners, she has been saying yes ma'am, please, thank you, excuse me, sorry. So I guess she is learning something productive at school when she is not playing! :) That makes me happy! If only Jevin & Caitlyn could take some of those manners from their 2 year old sister! ha ha

Well we also got to go on an awesome vacation trip to Florida! It was definitely an adventure with three little kids!! But they had so much fun! It was their first time to see the ocean and I hope it is a memory they will have for forever! I know that Scott & I will! My parents & brother accompanied us on the trip, so it was so much fun! The condo we stayed in was awesome too. We all pretty much had our own space. Mom & Dad had their own room, with a bathroom, Scott & I had our own room (Kirsten stayed with us), then Jevin & Caitlyn had their own room with bunk beds and Zack stayed on the couch (it had a bed in it). So it was just perfect. It was walking distance to many places.

Jevin & Caitlyn are staying home this summer with a sitter (my cousin). This is the first year they have done this, previous years they were in daycare. So this has been a new experience for them. I think they are enjoying it. Although, I have now made them a daily schedule so they dont sit around and watch TV and eat all day! :) But they have been going to the pool some. But I can say that I am definitely ready for school to get back in session so they can get back into some sort of a routine! That will be great! I know my parents used to always say, I am so ready for school to start back and I used to always so NO! But now, as a parent myself, I completely understand why! :)

Anyway, the summer has been going great so far! :) But it is almost over, only one more month till school's back in session! And that will be here before ya know it! And I cant believe that Jevin will be in 3rd Grade and Caitlyn in 2nd Grade! WOW.....Seems like they were just babies! :( But they are the joys of my life! :)

They Grow Up Too Fast.....

Let's see.....we closed on our house a couple of weeks ago!! As I was packing everything, I have to admit I did get a little sad because it was our first house and I really loved the house, just not the location. But we had lots of help from family and friends and we got everything packed up. We have most of it in storage at this point and then our necessities at my parents with us. We are so thankful that we have the opportunity to stay at my parents house right now while we are paying off some bills and saving up some money. My parents have three extra bedrooms so, Scott & I are in one room, Kirsten is in one room by herself, but Kirsten's room also includes all of the kids toys, clothes, etc. Then Jevin & Caitlyn are staying in the same room, which they are used to doing. But here lately Kirsten has began to notice they get to sleep together (which they always have since they were babies) and Kirsten is wanting to sleep with them or sleep with Scott & I. She will NOT go to sleep in her bed. So we usually let her fall asleep in our bed then move her to her bed, but she usually ends up back in our bed at some point in the middle of the night.

Kirsten turned 2 years old in January. It was hard on me to think my baby girl is already 2 years old! You really do not realize how fast kids grow up till you have your own. It seems like yesterday that Jevin & Caitlyn were babies!! And now they are in 1st & 2nd grade!! WoW!!! Caitlyn also had a birthday, she turned 7 on Valentines day!! Both of the girls had awesome birthdays!! Kirsten had a "Barney" birthday theme and Caitlyn had a "butterfly" birthday theme!! They got lots of clothes and a few toys!! Jevin's birthday is coming up soon though...he will be 8 in April!! And that is just crazy to me!! He is such a great big brother...it amazes me how boys are so much more caring and loving! Dont get me wrong my girls are too, but Jevin just has a huge heart and he would do pretty much anything to make his sisters happy. I just hope one day that the girls will appreciate all that he gives to them!

Anyway, that is pretty much all that is going on in our lives at the moment!! The above pic is of the kids, this is the pic that was on our Christmas Card!!

2009

Well....this week we sold our house finally!!! I was so thrilled!!! It has definitely been a roller coaster ride. I am not the most patient person so this has definitely tested my patience. Anyway, the kids are doing good!!! Kirsten will be 2 years old next week....which makes me so sad!!! Kids grow up way too fast....I know I always heard that when I was younger...and I thought...yeah right...but you truely dont understand it till you have your own kids. And you dont understand how much your parents did and loved you until you are a mommy or daddy then it all comes to reality. Anyway, we are set to close on our house on February 12th!! So we will be busy till then!!! Then after that we are going to stay at my parents for a while, pay off some bills and save money for a down payment. We are hoping to be able to start looking for a house at then end of summer or fall time!!! :)

This Past Weekend....And Remembering Paw.....

Well this weekend Scott & I went to Lake Degray State Park. Scott had a conference with the Air National Guard. So Friday night they had a dinner that spouses could attend (Steak, Shrimp, Baked Potato, Salad). It was really good. We got to meet some new people, so that was nice. Then Saturday, Scott was in the conferences all day listening to speakers on how to be a leader....he said that he learned a lot....so that is good!!! :) Anyway....while he was doing that, I just hung out in the hotel room....watched the television and just laid around, I bought a coloring book and colored some (which Scott thought was so funny)....but I like coloring! :) Then Saturday night we went into Hot Springs and ate at Fisherman's Wharf...it was really good!! Then Sunday morning....Scott went back to the conferences till noon....so I hung out in the hotel room until 11:00 a.m. (check-out time), then I went into the lobby and waited for an hour and talked to some other wives that were waiting. Then we finally headed back home. I missed the kids so much the entire weekend.....it's hard to leave them like that, but it is also good to get away and have time to yourselves. I think that is so important!!!

But one thing I was sad about....is that I missed the Alzheimer's Walk that was Saturday at Toad Suck Park. As most of you know....my grandfather, Bob J. Starr, passed away in January this year. He suffered from Alzheimers. And every year our BIG family gets together to do this walk.....we had t-shirts made that say "Walking for Bob". Well, this year is the first walk since he passed away, we had new shirts made this year so I made sure I wore mine this weekend since I couldnt be at the walk. A picture of my Paw is posted above...he is missed very much by all of us, although at least we know he is not suffering anymore, it is still hard on everyone and as the holiday season approaches, it will definitely be different not having him here this year. I thought I would share a poem that all the granddaughters wrote about Paw and read at this funeral.....my grandfather was a boxer and two time golden glove winner....so you need to understand that before you read the poem.......

The 15th Round

By: Heather Womack, Sarah Beth Moss, Cacy Simpson, and Amy Schichtl

As the fifteenth round began
All one could hear was the roaring of the fans
Though you took many shots
You never once stopped
You fought with all your might
Even though it took many nights
And then the bell rang
This time it was Jesus calling your name
Now your hand is raised high’
You started to fly
The prize is clear
That heaven is near
Now by God you stand
In the heavenly land

This Week

This has been such a long week for us!!! Let's see....Monday night, Jevin had flag football practice...then Tuesday morning, I was on my way to take Kirsten to daycare and just as I was about to turn into the daycare....Kirsten threw up all in the car!!! GROSS......so I had to miss a day of work....I took her to my parents, had to undo the carseat cover to wash (which took forever), then clean up the car, I then put everything in the washing machine and gave her a bath, by the time I was done with all of that it was 11:00 a.m. She never threw up again, I think it was just from her cold. We then went to my friend Marli's house to help her put up her kiddos trampoline & swing set....and she was kind enought to cook us an awesome dinner!!! It was great and the kids had a blast playing together!!! Then Wednesday I woke up and felt bad, I had a cold....so I decided to not go to church Wednesday evening to try to get to feeling better. Lets see then while we were home, Scott was mowing the yard, he had finished and Kirsten & I decided to go outside to see what he was up to.....well Kirsten fell on the lawnmower and it was still so HOT, she burned herself, she burned her arm pretty badly, then her leg in two places. So, I went in panic mode....started calling everyone to see about what you do for burns, my parents went to Walgreens and got some burn medicine and gauze to wrap her arm with. I took her to the doctor on Thursday morning (took off work another day) and the doctor gave me some antibiotic cream for the burns and said I need to scrub the burns to make sure they dont scar, then keep her arm covered for 4 days and the ones on her leg covered if she's at daycare, but if she's home then I dont have to. Anyway, it was such an ordeal, I felt so bad about her getting burned.....but she is back at daycare today (Friday). But needless to say...I am so ready for the weekend!!! Kirsten's had an awful week!!! :)

First Blog

Guess I should start by saying something about ourselves. I am happily married to Scott Womack. We have three wonderful children: Jevin, Caitlyn & Kirsten.

Jevin is 7 years old. He is in 2nd grade...it seems like just yesterday he was a baby. He loves sports, football and baseball are his favorites. He is playing flag football right now. He is very athletic and enjoys every minute of each sport he plays! He is such a great big brother, he is very caring to both of his younger sisters!!

Caitlyn is 6 years old. She is in 1st grade. She is such a girly girl!! She loves Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus, Cheetah Girls....all those things. She is always concerned about what she is wearing, whether it looks good, matches, all those important things. She loves music and to dance around the house. She also is a great big sister!!! She loves to take care of her baby sister so much. She and Jevin are just great friends.....they argue a lot but at the end of the day they are the best of friends, which I am so thankful!

Kirsten is 1 years old (20 months old to be exact). She is such a joy to our lives!! She wants to be right in the middle of everything her brother & sister are doing. She loves being outside and loves animals! She definitely keeps Scott & I laughing all the time!

And here is a little bit about Scott & I......we actually have known each other for a long time....we went to elementary school together.....I did actually meet him until I was in 6th grade and he was in 7th grade.....he was going out with my best friend at the time. Then we didnt start hanging back out until we were college age again, we had some mutual friends and we at the same places most of the time.....then the rest is history.....I can say that Scott is definitely one of the best things that has happened to my life. He means more to me than I can even put into words! I know that God brought him into my life for a reason and I am so thankful. He is an awesome husband and father to my kids. I could not ask for anything more.
